Biography

I am very little without my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Coming to that place is an interesting story (isn't it for everyone?) that I will tell more about later. Suffice to say; grew up in a "cult" (painful to say but true), had loving and wonderful parents anyway, and found Jesus in a real way after my first son and before my second. My husband Joe is the man I always hoped to marry (I just didn't know it until I got to know him). And though this journey called "til death do us part" can be challenging, it is full of joy and surprises and lots of personal growth. Speaking of personal growth, I am lucky enough to be home raising my joys, Henry and Zane (thanks to my sponsor, the husband). Described best as a verbally-active, willful preschooler (Henry) and a sweet (for now) beautiful baby (Zane). It is a fact that no one ever tells you what you are getting into when you are pregnant or the hormones keep the information from getting into the brain. See, I like to be selfish but I am trying to learn to be selfless (working on it anyway).
I have strong opinions. I am a conservative but have almost entirely liberal friends. This blog is a way for me to vent and not get myself in trouble, if you don't like my thought of the day, use that little red "x" box in the upper-right hand corner. Some basic and possibly unusual facts about me. I distrust traditional medicine and have my babies without drugs (I know, freak out now). In fact my last baby was born at home!! If I have a cold sore or start to feel a little under-the-weather I juice some carrots to start the day off right. I am loathe to taking medication, don't get me started on the pharaceutical industry. Before you think I am some kind of socialist-leaning hippie, know that I majored in economics and history in college (that diploma factory, University of Washington) and am quite a fan of capitalism and market-forces. In fact, in a future life, I might want to get some additional higher-ed in economics and work for a public-policy think tank cranking out freedom-loving, market-driven ideas. My husband thinks that my econ degree leads me to amazing investment choices but sorry, I'm a theory chick. (I used that word to emphasize I am in rebellion against the politically correct movement.) Also I like fashion (pet peeve - women in North Face jackets over their business suits) but am against rampant materialism.
I am born and raised in the Seattle-area, and now live in beautiful Everett. I feel blessed in so many ways and am thankful to live in a country with so much bounty, freedom (of speech, religion especially) and beauty. I have great friends! I have great parents! I have a great grandmother! I have two great sisters and a brother! I am a lucky gal.
