Learning at 35 that "snow day" isn't all that amazing and fabulous when, it stretches into it's 3rd day, (after a 4 day weekend), and you are aware that there is curriculum your child is now NOT learning (kindergarten is deep into beginning spelling, a day off and we might forget everything so carefully taught).
Speaking of knowing that my child is not learning critical information, I am aware that I never even gave that a thought when I was in school with snow days (only maybe a foreign language class).
